Great staff and a lovely building. We stayed in the suite and the views of the beach are amazing. The room itself was nice with some old furniture and original cornicing, but the bathroom was a bit shabby and could do with some redecorating.

    We will definitely be back!

AMAZING as always. We stayed there last week and loved every minute of it. Every time we visit Dunbar this is the hotel for us. Always a great reception and the views are breathtaking if you can book a room with the Sea View. We stayed in the Double Room and the John Muir Suite both of which had a Sea View and it was incredible. Breakfasts were lovely too with the all you can eat buffet followed by a Scottish Breakfast and the waiter we had, Steven! Nothing but good words to say about that guy! Made sure we had everything we needed and made sure everything was OK with the food as well as being polite and chatting to us and recommending things to do! 10 out of 10 I'd go back - INCREDIBLE! Always a delight to stay here, I'd recommend it to anyone visiting Dunbar or even Scotland!

I visited Bayswell Park Hotel for a spa break. It is located within a 15mins walk from the train station. Most of the hotel rooms have a spectacular view off a cliff in the open sea. Thanks to this, is hotel is quite popular during the summer months. I had an afternoon tea at the restaurant which was the most enjoable aspect of my visit. The selection of little chocolate brownies, victoria sponge cakes and scones served with fresh cream was delicious. I asked the receptionist and another member of staff about where to find the tourist information office in town and they could not tell me. There was no tourist brochure for Dunbar at the hotel lobby as one might expect. Later on, another, younger, receptionist appeared and she was able to show me where the Tantallon castle was, so she was more knowledgeable than the other staff. The massage and facial treatments were nothing special, the lady doing it was very cortuous though. Now, for the hot bath tub. Even if you are staying at the hotel you have to book it and pay extra £7.50. It is located outside on the wooden balcony facing the sea. However, due to the wooden enclosure, you can only see the top of the sea horizon from the tub. It was also in the shadows in the midday when I was there, because this side of the hotel is facing north. There is no wall clock to tell you the time but you can wave to the hotel staff from the treatments room and they will come out to you if they are there. The sliding door which opens to the balcony with the tub, was very hard to open from the outside and I needed one of the staff assistance to get back in (brrr, it was really cold when I got out of the warm tub!). There was only 1 shower room. It did not have any showering accessories like a shower gel or shampoo dispensers (so be prepared to bring your own) and there were several cleaning bottles under the sink probably left by the cleaner. There were 4 little lockers in the adjacent toilet room for which you are given a key. You are provided with a bath robe and a towel but no slippers. I have not seen the rooms so cannot comment on this.
